Case Study - Redland Girl’s School
Tailored Flooring & Woodpecker Flooring collaborate on the redevelopment of Redland Girls School, Bristol
Woodpecker asked us to install their sustainable, engineered wood flooring throughout the redevelopment of the iconic Redland Girl’s School in Bristol.
It’s a stunning landmark development that consists of a collection of new build, refurbished and architecturally unique homes all set within landscaped grounds.
The developers, Juniper Homes, wanted to balance the new with the old, and let the rich and varied history of the school shine through.
Project Overview
On the site once occupied by Redland High Girls School. The historic element of the development includes the historic Grade 2* listed Redland Court along with the original Old School Hall and Library. Many of the original period details have been retained and restored. Alongside these historic buildings a total of 44 apartments, duplex and town houses are due to be built, each providing a luxurious standard of living.
What type of wood flooring did we install?
Chepstow Rustic Brushed & Oiled (The Old School)
Chepstow Planed Washed Oak (Townhouses)
Chepstow Antique Oak (West Villa)
Goodrich Natural Oak (The Old School)
Goodrich Feather Oak (Science Block, Woodstock Lodge)
How we did it?
We worked with the Woodpecker team who provided samples and technical advice to ensure the best conditions for reliable fitting and floors that are fit for purpose.
Timely delivery was essential, which was no mean feat for 3000m2, in the middle of a pandemic, and a global shipping crisis. Thanks to Woodpeckers’ high stock levels, it ensured the successful completion of the project. We look forward to many more collaborations in the future.
